If someone had said to you last year that there would be a Great Virus of 2020, what would you have done? Probably changed your password and upgraded your internet security!
So, here we are in the grips of the Corona virus and in the last few weeks life has changed completely. Things that we took for granted are no longer available to us and we are all spending more time at home.
Many of you know that I have an Auto-Immune disease, Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), and that makes me a “person at risk” from the virus. So I now have to stay at home for at least the next 12 weeks. To limit the risk we have decided to stop dispatching orders from Glitterwitch for the time being so that Mr Glitterwitch does not have to make the daily Post Office run. Well, I guess we are not an “essential” business, but I am aware that a lot of my customers are small businesses themselves and will still be needing their craft supplies. However, I must look after my health as best I can in order for Glitterwitch to continue in the future.
So here is a picture of the coronavirus and I noticed a Facebook post the other day where someone has created a crochet pattern to make one. This got me thinking of what it would be like made from beads pinned into a polystyrene ball, or maybe I could knit one! I think Crafter’s brains work slightly differently to other people. While most people are worrying if they have enough toilet rolls, I am thinking of sticking pins into balls.
If anyone has crafted a “virus” I would love to see it, so please add a comment to this post with a picture.
I will leave you with this lovely quote from my favourite bear, which will hopefully make you smile.
